Our Cause in 2008
We're delighted to announce that in 2008 we will be continuing our support for St. Catherine's Association in Co. Wicklow.
St. Catherine's is a non-profit making organisation which provides education, training, healthcare and residential/respite care to children who have intellectual and other disabilities.
The dedicated and skilled staff at St Catherine’s provide a wide range of services for children and their families for a wide range of physical and mental disabilities, offering speech and language therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, both clinical and educational psychology, nursing, behaviour management etc.
St Catherine’s offers hope to the many families it supports and assurance that parents can improve the quality of life for their children. In that respect their ethos closely mirrors that of Sporting Proud...Kids should be given every opportunity to become the very best that they can be.
St. Catherine's currently have about 50 children with serious mobility problems. Due to demand, the facility has recently established additional workspace for the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Departments at a cost of approximately €80k. These departments now need specialised equipment and appliances for their work including;
The estimated cost of provisioning this equipment is €100k and we desperately need your help to make this happen.
