10th Sporting Proud Ireland Triathlon 2008

Picture: Presentation of cheque for €3,000 by the winning Cadbury team to Sporting Proud

Gerard McGrath & Carron Mullen Win the Men's & Ladies' events respectively in the 2008 Sporting Proud Triathlon

Despite the inclement weather - another fantastic fundraising event!

Having cancelled the swim section of the Triathlon due to a massive swell in Brittas Bay, and endured a longer than planned swim-replacement sprint-event! the cycling and running sections went ahead as planned with a record turnout of competitors.  The cycle was described as the "hardest ever" as athletes fought against a gale force Northerly wind and generally misearable conditions.  The afternoon cleared nicely as forecast and the now famous Sporting Proud family Bar-B-Q was once again a resounding success.
